Documentation: Content Style Guide

These are four excerpted pages from a style guide for a freelance client. This style guide was written to provide editorial guidelines for employees to write clear and consistent help center articles.

This client had a relatively complex product for government workers with low tech-literacy. The client had little live customer support, so their help center needed to be rebuilt from the ground up to better serve their users.

A content style guide should reinforce the objective of the writer and provide functional guidance in topics like grammar, mechanics, and style. It should be complete enough to anticipate the needs of the writer without being burdensome.
